And the rest of the walk...

was spent wandering through the streets, window shopping and stopping by a section of some of the Christmas markets.

These photos glow. I love the cozy warm feel of them - especially the fashion store window; it's candidly festive and warm. You've captured the feel of the city right now - I love it!

It looks so dreamy! Marc says Austria is "the place to be" for Christmas. Loved the decor!

such fun photos. i like the art of the schloss with all the colors... you need that to remind you of your time over there. i also like those corn cob angels... hilarious! i am trying to think of an easy craft to do with the girls, but i don't think that is it. miss you sissy!

Hey Carolyn-
I found your blog today and read the whole thing! (My job is REALLY slow before the holidays) I love it and am so jealous of your experience.

Merry Christmas!

EEK, those are some staggering prices on the lenses! I've been meaning to ask you what model Nikon you're using?
I sold my D40 to help cover the cost of my upgrade to the D90, and I'm just blown away with the awesomeness (word?) of it! I'm using a Tamron 17-50mm for most of my shots, but am CRAZY about what I can get with my fixed 50mm for close-ups! What's your fave go-to lens?
